27.06.2008 The project to build Kosova C thermoelectric power plant will not proceed without prior public debate, involving in particular the population of the area that will be the most exposed to the pollution it will emit.

23.06.2008 Zelena Akcija (Green Action) environmental organization reacted to the announced cooperation of Cardinal Bozanić and Mayor Milan Bandic, on five different projects. Zelena Akcija focused on two of the projects – plans to build 2,500 apartments in developments in Strug on Žitnjak and the proposed Museum of Sacral Art in Nova Vesa.

30.04.2008 Svjetska Banka namjerava odobriti zajam od 4,5 miliona dolara Crnoj Gori i Albaniji za zaštitu ekosistema Skadarskog Jezera. Albaniji će biti uplaćeno 1,9 miliona, dok će ostatak of 2.6 million dolara biti uplaćen na račun Vlade Crne Gore.

Quite the opposite, Vodno is under constant attack, not the least by urban development efforts that make steady progress into the protected area and degrade the natural environment.

07.02.2008 The fire that started on the Turkish ship Und Adriyatica yesterday morning, some 15 miles east off Rovinj, still burns, although it has lost much of its power. Experts estimate that there is little chance for explosion that could sink the ship. No pollution was released into the sea, so far.

07.02.2008 Požar koji je u srijedu rano ujutro buknuo na turskom brodu Und Adryaticu, 15 milja zapadno od Rovinja, još gori, iako je manji. Požar na turskom brodu polako jenjava. Stručnjaci su procijenili kako je vrlo mala mogućnost da dođe do eksplozije i potonuća broda. More zasad nije onečišćeno.

10.01.2008 The Cantonal Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection declared the first degree of alert for emergency situation because of the rising air pollution levels in Sarajevo, caused by the morning and evening fog which assists the pollution to remain in the valley of Sarajevo. The weather is stabilizing, in fact, that could contribute to rising concentration of air pollution.

12.12.2007 The Zelena akcija environmental association presented its Zero waste manual. The manual aims to show that waste management is much wider than the simple matters of waste dumps and incinerators.

12.12.2007 Zelena akcija predstavila je javnosti priručnik za gospodarenje otpadom pod imenom Nula otpada. Priručnik ima za cilj pokazati kako gospodarenje otpadom nije pitanje samo odlagališta ili spaljivanja otpada.

08.11.2007 Environmental protection association gathered in the Committee for Protection of Citizens from Industrial Pollution has maintained contact with the European Green Party and MPs in the European Parliament, on issues related to environmental pollution in Croatia. The cooperation has intensified over the past several months, due to frequent incident in Croatia, like leaks in Sisak and Karlovac.

08.11.2007 Udruge za zaštitu okoliša okupljene u „Odbor za zaštitu građana od industrijskih zagađenja“ već duže vrijeme kontaktiraju sa predstavnicima Evropske stranke zelenih kao i članovima Evropskog parlamenta, vezano za problematiku zagađenja okoliša u Republici Hrvatskoj. Ta suradnja dodatno je intenzivirana posljednjih mjeseci zbog učestalih ekoloških incidenata u Hrvatskoj (Sisak, Karlovac...).
