SKOPJE, 22 March 2004 - The Ministry of Interior and the OSCE Mission to Skopje today launched a nationwide TV campaign to promote co-operation between the police and the citizens, with a series of daily public information slots on national TV and 16 local stations.

At the press conference held in Skopje, on February 23, the Civic Platform Dosta e! presented its new initiative for disarmament on regional level. The campaign should assist in the overall process of stabilization and European integration of the region.

Humanitas Centre implements the humanitarian campaign "For 500 Laughs", in cooperation with the Telecom of Srpska. The campaign has the purpose to assist the socially endangered children in the Republic of Srpska (RS). The goal of the campaign is to collect finances and goods to purchase 500 packages that will be distributed to children on social care in RS.

In 2004, the SEE Youth Network SEEYN shall start with the implementation of the new project titled Albert Einstein, which has the goal to place voluntarism into the legal framework of the countries of Southeast Europe and to establish a volunteer visa regime. The ultimate goal of the project is to strengthen the mobility of youth through increase in volunteer campaigns, in order to secure peace and stability in the region.

On January 8, The European Stability Initiative submitted a new radical proposal for political reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The proposal was submitted to the Governments and authorities at State, entity and cantonal level.

The Right to Know Project is implemented by the International Forum for Solidarity in cooperation with the UNICEF Office in B&H. The goal of the project is to establish a communication plan for HIV/AIDS prevention among the adolescent population in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the goal of the project is to provide for an active involvement of adolescents in the research and other activities that are important for them.

From November 25 to December 10, 2003, women groups from Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia will implement the first joint regional campaign "16 Days of Fight Against Violence on Women". The SOS Phone Network will carry out the campaign for Montenegro. In Montenegro, the campaign will be implemented under the title "Who is Responsible?" with the message "Violence on women is a crime. Where is the punishment?"
